As an urban planner with a passion for sustainable development and heritage conservation, my recent city break at Royal Concorde Hotel&Suite in Deira, Dubai was both promising and disappointing. the spacious 3-bedroom apartment was a haven, equipped with modern amenities, including a well-fitted kitchen where we could prepare meals like locals. The hotel's prime location close to my sister's apartment and just 6.1 km from Dubai World Trade Centre was convenient. Better to arrange transport in advance or use Uber to avoid conflict. This hygiene issue made dining at the hotel impossible, leading us to explore local eateries to soak up authentic cuisine from India, Syria, Lebanon, and more in Dubai's vibrant Deira neighborhood. Although the hotel offered room service, concierge assistance, and currency exchange, the unclean dining area overshadowed these amenities. the apartment's three bathrooms with a bath and free toiletries were a thoughtful touch, but the lack of cleanliness tainted the overall experience. In conclusion, the Royal Concorde Hotel&Suite has great potential with its spacious rooms, convenient location, and diverse dining options, but the cleanliness standards need substantial improvement to match the expectations of discerning travelers seeking a seamless blend of comfort and hygiene.
